2007 Lucerne is Buick's most premium and elegant model to date. With its gracefully sculpted body, responsive handling and finely crafted interior, the Lucerne is the contemporary embodiment of Buick's tradition of style, comfort and performance.

For '07, the front-wheel drive Buick Lucerne has added several new high-technology and comfort features to complement an already long list of offerings, including a touchscreen navigation system, OnStar's Directions & Connections with Turn-by-Turn navigation and an available heated leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The touchscreen navigation system uses signals from global-positioning satellites to compute the vehicle's position and display its location on a virtual map set into the instrument panel. It can also suggest the best routes to a destination as well as locations of gas stations, restaurants and other points of interest.

Additional navigation support is provided by OnStar's Turn-by-Turn navigation, which is standard across all Buicks in 2007 . The Turn-by-Turn service allows OnStar customers to talk to a live advisor, who in turn downloads complete step-by-step directions to the vehicle through the OnStar system. Audio directions are then automatically played through the vehicle's stereo as they are needed, triggered by the OnStar system's GPS capabilities. This will allow drivers to be led to their destination while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

2007 Buick Lucerne offers either V-6 or V-8 power, five- or six-passenger seating configurations, and a lengthy list of innovative safety and security features. Available in three trim levels - the well-equipped CX, elegantly appointed CXL or the luxurious, performance-oriented CXS model - Buick Lucerne is engineered to meet a wide variety of customer preferences and compete across a wide range of domestic and import entries in the upper midsize, full-size and entry-level luxury segments.

Finely-tuned ride and handling

Lucerne 's overall ride performance is enhanced with Magnetic Ride Control. Standard on the uplevel CXS, this system uses magnetically charged particles suspended in a synthetic fluid to continuously adjust the fluid's viscosity to varying road surfaces and driving characteristics. The system has quicker response than conventional valve-damping systems, while providing increased vehicle control and tire contact with the road surface.

Four specifically tuned suspension packages are offered. Buick Lucerne CX is equipped with a standard Premium Ride suspension, with 16-inch wheels. CXL models with the V-6 engine benefit from a Ride and Handling suspension with a slightly firmer calibration, complemented by 17-inch wheels. CXL V-8 models also are equipped with 17-inch wheels, but with firmer damping and GM's magnetic assist steering system. The top-end Lucerne CXS offers a sport-tuned suspension and features 18-inch wheels and Magnetic Ride Control paired with StabiliTrak and brake assist.
