| 2007 Chevrolet Impala, 2007 Impala SS Chevrolet's Flagship Sedan is Stylish, Versatile and Fuel-Efficient
Chevrolet Impala is a stylish, sporty sedan that is many things to many people - from a strong, reliable, fuel-efficient family sedan to a sleek and powerful performance car. That may be why Impala was the best-selling domestic car in 2005.
2007 Chevrolet Impala, which underwent a major redesign for 2006, is poised for another successful year with the addition of Active Fuel Management to the 3.9L V-6, a fuel-saving technology that shuts off half the engine's cylinders when full power is not needed. Active Fuel Management improves fuel economy by up to 8 percent in certain driving situations.
This is GM's first application of Active Fuel Management on a six-cylinder engine. Previously on Impala, Active Fuel Management was available only on the Impala SS equipped with the 5.3L small-block V-8.
"Fuel economy is important to our Impala customers. They can choose gasoline-saving features such as the 3.5L V-6 FlexFuel that can run on E85 ethanol, gasoline or a combination of both; and now, Active Fuel Management is available on both the 3.9L V-6 and the 5.3L V-8," said Ed Peper, Chevrolet general manager. "Combined with the stylish amenities, comfort, strength and performance Impala is known for, I expect the 2007 Impala to continue to help Chevy assert its leadership in the market."
With more than 1.4 million sales since its 1999 introduction, including more than 246,000 in 2005 - the Impala has cultivated a family of new and returning customers.
