A 3.5L V-6 powerplant with variable valve timing replaces the previous 3.5L V-6 in the Malibu ; it is standard on Malibu and Malibu Maxx LTZ and Malibu Maxx LT, and available on the Malibu LT sedan. The 3.5L V-6 is part of a new family of sophisticated overhead valve, 60-degree V-6 engines that optimize fuel economy and lower emissions.
2007 Malibu SS and Chevrolet Malibu Maxx SS are powered by a sophisticated 3.9L V-6 that uses variable valve timing and variable intake technology to help produce 240 horsepower (179 kW). Unique interior and exterior appointments, along with sport-tuned suspensions and segment-largest 18-inch flangeless wheels, complete the SS packages.
