This new 208 bhp 2.7 HDi V6 engine makes its debut in the Citroen range on the Citroen C6. It was developed specially for the executive market as part of the cooperation between the PSA Group and Ford Motor Company. This HDi V6 engine features advanced technologies setting high standards of smooth, refined performance.
Delivering a responsive performance from the lowest engine speeds, it develops 150 kW EEC (208 bhp DIN) at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 440 Nm EEC at 1,900 rpm.
The new-generation common rail engine includes multiple-pilot injections and closed loop control to maintain combustion quality in all conditions of engine operation. Two electronically controlled turbochargers influence performance and pollutant emissions. Traditionally, turbochargers are vacuum controlled. However, the new rotary electric actuator provides more precise control, bringing real benefits in emissions, transient engine performance and in the performance/emission balance between the two banks of cylinders. Through its avant-garde design, this V6 engine satisfies the Euro IV emission standard. It is also equipped with the new-generation particulate filter.
On the C6, this engine is mated with the 6-speed automatic gearbox recently introduced on the new look C5.
