SEAT to participate with a team made up exclusively of employees





The traditional "24 hours of Barcelona" racing event, which will be held at the Circuit de Catalunya from 8 to 10 September, will count with an amateur team made up exclusively of SEAT employees. Over 700 applications were screened, and 50 were finally chosen to head one of the teams that is sure to give its rivals a run for their money.
 
From drivers to mechanics, photographers, caterers, physiotherapists and time-keepers, every position has been covered by volunteers from all of the company's divisions and work centres.
 
Although the "SEAT auto emocion" team is strictly amateur, the work they are doing is highly professional. So far the 50 members have attended team-building workshops and have spent two days working as a team with their competition vehicle, which is a 180 hp Ibiza Cupra TDI unit produced by SEAT and prepared by SEAT Sport for this special occasion.
 
36 of the 69 registered cars are SEAT units, giving it the greatest representation. Of the 36, 12 are the Leon Supercopa '06 model, which is aspiring for the overall title. The novelty this year is that SEAT is participating for the first time at this event with an all-employee team. The aim is that the SEAT workers collaborate in a unique competition experience, so beyond the final result, the activity means a great success for the company when considering the massive response to the challenge and the work put in by the participants.
