Ceramic Brake for Audi

The Wiesbaden supplier SGL Carbon and Audi will jointly manufacture a ceramic brake for production models.


It will be possible to order the brake starting from July. Within the terms of the contract for developing and planning an automatic series production, SGL Carbon will receive a sum in the lower double-digit million range.


Both partners are also considering a joint investment in large-series production within the scope of a joint venture. Compared with conventional brake systems, the innovative brake technology is more efficient and has a lower weight and greater durability.
