"DREAM TIBURON" BECOMES A REALITY FOR ASPIRING HYUNDAI TUNER AT
2005 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW

Hyundai and American Products Company Collaborate with
"Tune-Up-A-Tib" Contest Winner to Produce a Custom Tiburon

February 9, 2005 (Fountain Valley, Calif.) -- After a whirlwind tour of the aftermarket industry at the 2004 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, aspiring tuner Todd Butterbaugh, from Omaha, Neb., returned with the know-how and industry connections to create his dream car. The result of his creativity was revealed at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show in the form of a custom, titanium black Hyundai Tiburon with the sound, looks and performance that all tuners dream of.

Butterbaugh won Hyundai Motor America's "Tune-Up-A-Tib" online contest, and earned a chance to work with Hyundai and American Products Company, of Corona, Calif., on a one-ofa-kind show car. Butterbaugh led the creative process and APC implemented his vision.

Butterbaugh's vision included a truly unique carbon fiber roof scoop, APC carbon fiber
hood and rear wing spoiler, 19 x 8 ½-inch wheels from Ray's Wheels and Toyo Tires. Other modifications include a custom- installed Alpine audio system, Tein suspension, Centerforce clutch and APC racing seats. And no "Dream Tiburon" would be complete without an Alpine Developments supercharger and Greddy exhaust system for performance.

"It was the opportunity of a lifetime," said Butterbaugh. "I've always wondered what
went into creating a show car, and after coming up with a creative direction, everything seemed to fall into place. It helps to have the resources of Hyundai and American Products Company working for you, but any tuner can find ways to make their dream vehicle a reality."

Butterbaugh was selected by a panel of Hyundai and APC executives from many entrants to the "Tune-Up-A-Tib" contest conducted from July through September 2004 on Hyundai's tuner site -- www.HyundaiUSA.com/Tuner. In addition to content on Hyundai tuning, the site features a diary of Butterbaugh's progress on his project Tiburon.

Butterbaugh's first assignment was to attend SEMA and identify partners to bring his
vision to life. While Hyundai and APC struck deals with some aftermarket suppliers on his behalf, Butterbaugh was responsible for making industry contacts to help make his concept stand out. After identifying partners, Butterbaugh coordinated delivery of performance parts and accessories, finalized the creative concept and guided the APC team during the build-up process.
