Ford Galaxy is undoubtedly a Ford when viewed from the front. The familiar and instantly recognisable dual grille, now common on most Ford vehicles, features a smaller upper grille over a larger inverted trapezoid lower grille. The lower grille interacts with the fog lamps to emphasise the vehicle's stance.

Rear styling - Ford's Design team wanted to create significant differentiation between Ford Galaxy and the new Ford S-MAX at the rear of the vehicle despite their technical relationship. For Ford Galaxy, this was accomplished thanks to the higher roofline at the rear, and by stretching the rear glass area down between the distinctive tail lamps. The distinctive new tail lamp design complements the rear screen and features a clear lens that creates a neat, jewelled effect.

Panorama roof - A new feature for Galaxy is an optional fixed glass panorama roof. Extending to just above the backrest of the second row seat, this impressive aperture gives the occupants an open, airy feel.

Large Glass Area - New Galaxy's spacious and sophisticated appearance is enhanced by large windows around the vehicle. These also allow more daylight into the interior, enhancing the feeling of space. Optional second and third row pull-up window blinds can also be specified.

Roof Carrier System - New Galaxy also offers a specially designed roof carrier system which is integrated into the roofline. C-channels with sliding crossbars integrate neatly into the roofline. When not in use, the crossbars can be positioned at the rear of the vehicle, and have been aerodynamically developed to function as a spoiler. Air flow management over the racks also helps to keep the rear window clearer during wet driving conditions.

A Larger Galaxy - The new Ford Galaxy's overall length has increased by 179mm over the prior model (4,820mm vs. 4,641mm). Vehicle width has increased by 60mm (1,854mm vs. 1,794mm), giving Ford Galaxy a more purposeful stance. The overall height was reduced slightly - 14mm - over the current model (1,676mm vs. 1,690mm).

Colours, Wheels and Tyres - The new Ford Galaxy is available in a range of three solid and ten optional metallic colours, depending on market and on series.

Depending on market and series, new Galaxy comes with either 16-inch steel or 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels. A new range of wheelcovers for steel wheels and multi-spoke alloy wheels have been specially designed to complement the exterior design and stance of the new Ford Galaxy.

Ford Galaxy Interior

The new Ford Galaxy uses its increased exterior dimensions ingeniously to provide enough space for up to seven adults and their luggage.

Accommodating passengers in a comfortable and flexible manner is the key to a successful MPV, and in new Galaxy, this is easily achievable thanks to its three-row seating configuration combined with the new Ford FoldFlatSystem (FFS).

Galaxy's interior is accessed effortlessly thanks to large, wide-opening doors, while elevated seating positions offered by generously shaped captain's chairs with armrests convey a 'command bridge' feel for occupants.

Overall, when compared to the original Galaxy, the new model gets a significant increase in luggage volume of around one-third, even with all seven seats in place. The capacity is an impressive 435 litres (vs. 335 litres) to the seatback and with the third row of seats in their forward-most position.
