A new generation of Sony in-car Hi-Fi components will be available from autumn 2006. All of the new audio equipment will be able to communicate with Ford's new HMI-system and can be operated via voice control.

The new Ford Galaxy will be available in three distinct series - Core, Trend and Ghia. An X-Pack will also be available for the Ghia. This comprehensive line-up is designed to fit all customer needs.

While the Core model is the entry-level Galaxy, it will not be generously specified. Offering all the essentials and including the new Ford FoldFlatSystem and an enhanced Intelligent Protection System, Ford Galaxy Core model will appeal to price-sensitive customers, perhaps trading up from a traditional sedan or wagon.

The Trend series has been carefully equipped to represent outstanding value for money, and will be the volume seller in the new range. Standard features like the EATC Air Conditioning system and a mid-length overhead console will set it apart from the competition.

At the top of the range, the Ghia model offers classic luxury, with added chrome elements to the exterior and visually distinctive seat trim inside. Such standard features as cruise control, auto lighting and rain sensing wipers, a full-length overhead console and powered/heated door mirrors with puddle lights will attract premium MPV buyers.

The Ghia X-Pack takes the luxurious Ghia model one step further, and offers additional premium features like full leather trim and the Panorama Roof. It is the ultimate new Ford Galaxy.

With its market success in Europe over the last eleven years, the Ford Galaxy has built up a loyal customer following. With new Galaxy, Ford is aiming to repeat this success by appealing to the same broad base of loyal customers, and also by attracting new ones.

Research among Ford Galaxy customers showed that they appreciate style and are always looking for clever technology that will aid them in juggling their busy family lives. New Galaxy provides both with its expressive body forms and technological advancements like Hill Launch Assist and Interactive Vehicle Dynamics Control.

Yet it remains a Ford Galaxy, offering even more interior flexibility and roominess, the latest technologies, advanced safety systems, and strong value for money.



No-compromise safety

For a family vehicle especially, safety is paramount. Ford has equipped new Galaxy with an impressive array of active safety features. The solid foundation for these features is the Galaxy's ultra-stiff body structure, which reduces the deformation of the passenger safety cell.

Ford's Intelligent Protection System has been enhanced for Galaxy, and now features a driver's knee airbag in addition to the usual complement of front and side airbags and air curtains.
