The Titanium X-Pack represents the ultimate Ford S-MAX, and offers additional premium features like Alcantara trim, a Panorama Roof and Halogen AFLS headlamps.

Customers wanting a more dynamic experience can upgrade their Trend or Titanium S-MAX by adding a Sports Pack. This includes 18" alloy wheels, partial leather seats, and sports suspension.


Outstanding safety

For a family vehicle especially, safety is paramount. Ford has equipped the S-MAX with an impressive array of active safety features. The solid foundation for these features is the car's ultra-stiff body structure, which reduces the deformation of the passenger safety cell. Ford S-MAX also features an enhanced version of Ford's Intelligent Protection System including a new airbag for the driver's knee area.

New safety systems introduced for Ford S-MAX include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Alert (FA) and Collision Mitigation by Braking. These driver aids are based on radar distance control technology. S-MAX also introduces Interactive Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVDC), Ford's all-new active suspension system which integrates:

- Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) to improve suspension performance and comfort in all road conditions and interact with the vehicle's ESP system for better dynamic vehicle behaviour
- Hill-Launch-Assist (HLA), which allows the driver to release the brake pedal and to step on the accelerator pedal without the vehicle rolling backwards
- Ford's new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)


Strong and economical powertrains

Ford S-MAX comes with a powerful engine with a true sporting character. The 5-cylinder, 2.5-litre Duratec petrol engine, known from the Ford Focus ST, delivers 220 PS (162 kW) and transmits a maximum torque of 320 Nm to the crankshaft.

Ford S-MAX's acceleration with the Duratec I-5 - 7.9 seconds from zero to 100 kph - is impressive. For smooth and exact gearshifts that match the engine's character, Ford S-MAX is fitted with Ford's Durashift MM66 transmission, which offers triple synchromesh for the bottom gears.
