Lowering
Lowering is the part I like the most. It is because lowering is a 'must do' in tuning, even the most beautiful car in the world will look better when it's lowered, and we all love a lowered car which make it is. I don't know what is your opinion about lowering but for me:More low the car, the more beautiful it is. Now let's start why car manufacturers deliver our cars without suspension lowering - with a ground clearance of 20 centimeters.. Mmm, I really don't know in fact. I always thought that if they had been produced them already lowered, that would double their car sales because so many people would fall in love with their cars. OK, that's not a good reason to produce cars with 5 cm ground clearance, I know. So, let's be honest.. It is because not everyone is tuning-addicted like us, and we are not that much in the crowd. Maybe after Fast & the Furious 3 :) First of all, we all know that people lower their cars for: - The looks (or good looks) and
- For better handling
Buy a set of new springs and you'll see that your car sticks on the road, cause the center of gravity is lowered. That's all. Is It Really??Hell noooo!!! In our article about performance air filters we claimed that you will lose power, not gain it unless you let cold air into the filter. You will lose power because you left the filter alone in the engine bay next to the engine and let it suck hot air !!! It's that simple.. We must do everything correct. Otherwise every mod that we do will finish with a disappointment Now this article is kinda air filter article, cause lots of people buy lowering springs but they make their cars handling worse and worse than the original.. That's Enough, Come To The Point!
Look at the pic on the right.. This is a 206GTI with -50 mm Eibach lowering springs.. Wasn't Eibach the best lowering spring in the world?? Yes, it is. Only if you buy ones which drop no more than -20 mm. If we talk serious, even Eibach won't do good without harder shocks. The pic on the left is the proof. By the way, not every -50 mm spring must look like that, maybe there are harder ones but it's still a big probability that your car's handling will be worse and you will wear your shocks with shorter springs. This is because your original shocks are not made to work with springs that short. What Happened To Your Car After -50 mm Car Lowering Springs??Guys, after these -50 mm. suspension springs the car began bouncing so much that you can't believe it. Let me tell you the reason: If you lower a car with a set of springs lowering more than -15 or 20 mm, then you must go for harder, even shorter shocks. That can be Bilstein, that can be Koni, whatever. Do it in your home, I don't care but do fit harder shocks. No way.. LOWERING PAGE2 |
