BRABUS PowerXtra: 190 hp (50 more hp) with 3-year warranty for the new Mercedes A 200 CDI

50 hp / 36.8 kW more power for just 1,480 euros - and with the unique BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years up to 100,000 kilometers (see BRABUS warranty conditions as of June 2003): BRABUS presents the BRABUS D3 (III) performance kit for the new Mercedes A 200 CDI, a world debut at the ESSEN-MOTOR-SHOW 2004.


The BRABUS D3 (III) kit makes optimal use of the reserves of the 1.9-liter common-rail turbodiesel engine. Power output increases from standard 140 hp / 103 kW to 190 hp / 140 kW. At the same time peak torque grows from 300 to 350 Nm between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm.


The Mercedes A 200 CDI with BRABUS D3 (III) tuning delivers excellent performance: Acceleration from rest to 100 km/h is shortened from 9.5 seconds for the production vehicle to 8.3 seconds. Top speed of the five-door increases from 201 km/h to 225 km/h. The BRABUS-tuned Mercedes A 200 CDI not only delivers excellent performance, it does so with the same fuel efficiency as the lower-powered production car. The same is true for the exhaust emissions: Just like the production car, the BRABUS-tuned A 200 CDI meets Euro 4 emission standards.


BRABUS Tuning also offers engine tuning for the A 180 CDI: With BRABUS D2 (III) performance kit maximum power output grows from 109 hp / 80 kW to 143 hp / 105 kW. Simultaneously peak torque increases from 250 to 300 Nm. Performance improves accordingly: Sprint time to 100 km/h is now only 9.5 seconds, top speed is 202 km/h.
