The new Alfa Romeo 147 proposes total comfort in every detail, from the rear headrests - restyled into a shorter version for improved visibility - to the steel door sills, from the door panels with a brand-new texture to the parking sensor built into the rear bumper.

Extreme care is devoted to every detail, such as the central console in a coordinated colour: in the grey Distinctive version, in leather and Alfatex. A lavish use of the most advanced technologies makes the journey safe and comfortable.

If you like to relax as you travel, you can count on the RDS car radio that offers many functions, including automatic volume adjustment as a function of car speed. On request, the audio system can be implemented by installing a Hi-Fi Bose system, at the forefront in terms of sound quality and reproducibility. A system that Bose has fine-tuned in collaboration with Alfa Romeo as a function of the specific requirements of the cockpit of the new Alfa 147.

Also available on request is the hands-free system that enables you to use your cell phone through the car`s audio system, without having to take out the phone from your pocket or bag. This communication technology makes it possible to telephone while driving, in full safety, without having to take your hands off the steering-wheel, without having to fit extra wires.




Safety

The heart of the passive safety systems equipping the new Alfa 147 is the non-warping cockpit conceived by Alfa Romeo to serve as a survival cell, with anti-intrusion bars and controlled non-deformability reinforcement for optimal protection.

Great care has also been devoted to the construction of the front and rear seat belts, all of them equipped with pretensioners and load limiters.

All the safety devices of the car are managed electronically, including the Fire Prevention System (FPS), which cuts out fuel delivery instantly and automatically in the event of crash.

A sextet of airbags is provided as standard to ensure total protection for all the occupants. In addition to the front-impact bags for the driver and passenger, the new 147 has two side-bags built into the front seats and two window bags affording further protection to the passenger heads in the event of a side crash.

All models have passive protection devices against theft: Alfa Code key, the Immobiliser and a steering lock that works by friction to prevent the steering column and lock mechanism from being damaged if someone tries to force it.

The new Alfa 147 uses the most innovative technologies to ensure effective vehicle control in any situation and achieve both safety and driving pleasure.

Excellent roadholding, even on low-grip terrain, puts this new Alfa model at the apex of its vehicle class. The credit goes to the highly reliable floorpan, with improved torsional and flexural stiffness, designed to work in unison with the new high double wishbone front suspension, derived from F1 race cars, that exalts the stability of front drive by anticipating the inclination of the axle when entering a bend, resulting in maximised adherence.
