The rear suspension relies on a McPherson set-up with independent wheels. A new suspension system has been developed to enhance the sensation of comfort even further, through high levels of stability, ease of handling, vibration damping, the ability to neutralise road irregularities and sharp bends.

Extremely safe is the hydraulic braking system, muted and servo-assisted, fitted with ventilated, bigger-sized disk brakes at front and solid disk brakes with floating callipers at rear. 

New generation technology is also embodied in the electronic safety devices, such as Bosch ABS with integrated EBD, two independent circuits in cross configuration ensuring bilateral control in the event of a fault and the ASR, that ensures maximum grip when cornering or accelerating, even on highly irregular surfaces.

Stability in limit conditions is enhanced by the VDC, Alfa Romeo`s original interpretation of the ESP, and the MSR, while the Brake Assist system optimises the braking action in panic braking.

Steering precision makes for effective control of the vehicle trajectory, resulting in safer driving in any situation.
