What if the pressure is too high, should I cool it?

If the bottle pressure is in excess of 1100 PSI the bottle should be cooled using a wet towel or chamois.



Where should I install my bottle?

The ideal place to mount the bottle is in the trunk; however if your car is a hatchback it is permissible to mount it in the passenger compartment if an external pressure relief vent is properly installed on the bottle.



What if my bottle leaks while I'm driving?

To become, "intoxicated", the nitrous leak would have to be severe and noticeable.



Is it OK to use a nitrous system on a high mileage engine?

It is OK only if the engine is in good mechanical condition. The primary concern is to ensure that the engine does not consume excessive oil. Oil in the combustion chamber can cause detonation.



How do I know how full my bottle is?

Although you can track your bottle PSI, the only accurate way to measure how full a nitrous bottle is to weigh the bottle. Nitrous systems achieve maximum power when the nitrous bottle is at least 20%, or greater, full. Below 20%, surging and lack of power occurs.



Is there a way to turn my nitrous bottle on and off without having to open the trunk?

Yes, most manufacturers offer Remote Bottle Valve Openers which allows you to open and close your nitrous bottle from the convenience of your drivers seat.



Do I need to change my fuel pump when adding a nitrous system?

If you have basic bolt-ons (performance filter, headers, exhaust, etc.), your stock fuel system should be adequate to support the stock settings your nitrous kit comes with. If major modifications have been done to your engine (heads, cam, turbo, supercharger, etc.) you must upgrade your fuel system.



How long does it generally take to install an nitrous kit?

The majority of nitrous kits can be installed using common hand tools in approximately 4 to 6 hours.



Which type of manifold is better suited for a plate injector type of nitrous system, single or dual plane manifold?

As long as the manifold doesn't interfere with the spray pattern of the bars, either will work fine in most cases. The distribution is better with a single plane at high RPM. If your goal is to increase power by more than 150 HP, the single plane manifold is better.



Does nitrous oxide raise cylinder pressure and temperatures?

Yes. Due to the ability to burn more fuel, this is exactly why nitrous makes so much power.
