EXTERIOR DIMENSIONS
PROPORTIONS THAT ENHANCE A STRONG PERSONALITY AND SUGGEST A GENEROUS INTERIOR SPACE...

Peugeot 207 is designed on PSA Peugeot Citroen's number 1 platform, which it interprets in its own way by adopting a distinctive architecture that necessitated changes to a number of key dimensions.

"Measuring up to its ambitions", Peugeot 207 is characterised by the following dimensions:

A length of 4.030 m (+200 mm compared to Peugeot 206)

  • a wheelbase of 2.540 m (an increase of 80 mm compared to the platform's "standard" wheelbase), enhancing road holding, active safety and interior comfort.
  • a front overhang limited to 829 mm and contributing to the passive safety of occupants and pedestrians.
  • an entirely new rear layout that enhances interior space, creates more useable space and practicality (a boot measuring 270 dm3 with a spare wheel well for example), while the rear overhang of 661 mm guarantees optimal performance in terms of repairability.

A width of 1.720 m enhances passive safety and ensures a wider interior space.

A height limited to 1.472 m which contributes to the dynamic and aesthetic balance, giving complete freedom to "seat" occupants in the most ergonomic way possible. Increased front and rear track (+ 30mm) compared to those of the "standard" platform on which it is designed, enhancing in particular the promise of good vehicle dynamics:
  • front track: 1.474 m
  • rear track: 1.469 m

Large diameter wheels fitted with 185/65R15, 195/55R16 and 205/45R17 tyres with an average diameter of 620 mm also renders the style more dynamic.

    WHEELS AND SUSPENSION
DYNAMIC ROAD HOLDING OFFERING DRIVING PLEASURE IN COMPLETE SAFETY

Particular attention has been paid to the key Peugeot values of road holding and driving pleasure to create a reference in the segment that is both dynamic and uncompromising in terms of safety.

Peugeot 207 benefits firstly from an excellent torsional rigidity of 0.8 mrd / 100 mdaN which, through optimal use of the suspension, guarantees active safety and driving pleasure.

The suspension, which features numerous developments to ensure the desired performance, is characterised by its balance between road holding and comfort. Firstly, widening of the front and rear track allows the rigidity of the body to improve stability in different dynamic situations.

The McPherson type front suspension architecture has been developed to improve the caster angle to ensure steering accuracy and action.

Key changes include new wishbones that improve rigidity and steering control, antiroll bars with increased control, and a sub-frame that incorporates a new deformable impact structure and a lower pedestrian impact beam.

The rear suspension with a deformable cross member is entirely new to respect the dynamic specification and accommodate the physical characteristics of Peugeot 207. It is characterised by its reduced weight and dimensions, but also by an increased rigidity for better control of vibrations and body stability.
