A tailor-made driver's seat...

Aware of the paramount need for driver comfort on which general safety depends, Peugeot 207 pays particular attention to the ability of its driver's seat to adapt ergonomically to all shapes and sizes. For example, the driver has a steering column that is height and depth adjustable over a distance of 40 mm in both directions, a feature rarely found in this segment level, as well as a generously dimensioned footrest and a long-cushioned seat, which slides over a distance of 230 mm and offers a height adjustment of 50 mm.

In addition, on many versions a central armrest provides a rest for the driver's elbow. The access to the many available vehicle functions has also been made as easy as possible, so the driver can operate them without removing their hands from the steering wheel.

• All Peugeot 207s come with electric front windows with the control switches, mounted on the interior door panel, a one-touch safety auto-reverse control for the driver's window.

• The radio controls are duplicated on a remote control module under the steering wheel. The functions of the latter include, with the "Bluetooth" phone kit, the possibility of hands-free and completely safe use of a compatible personal mobile phone, or indeed the RT3 telematics system with the car's inbuilt GSM telephone, as well as satellite navigation and access to associated support services.
  
  
  
  Extremely useful driving aids...
  
  To make driving as stress-free as possible and to help the driver observe speed limits, a variable speed limiter coupled with a cruise control is available as standard or as an option on all Peugeot 207s.
  
  An under-inflation tyre detection system is available as standard or as an option according to version. Location of the defective tyre is indicated on the multifunction display.
  
  Peugeot 207 can be equipped with a particularly sophisticated rear parking assistance system derived from higher segment vehicles. The audible signal indicating the remaining distance is duplicated by a visual aid on the multifunction display in the form of bars (monochrome screen) or coloured zones (colour screen).

  Eyes piercing the darkness...
  
  Its very large headlamps with their complex reflector surface and dual lights (H1 + H7) deliver a high-performance beam of light, the "subjective quality" of which has been designed with particular care.
  
  On some versions, the lighting of Peugeot 207 benefits from new technology with the use of an H7 elliptical module combined with static directional lighting. This function, rare at this segment level, makes it easier to identify a pedestrian about to cross the road when driving in town, or on minor roads, a cyclist riding at the side of the road.
  
  
  
  Static directional lighting? - A technical aside
  
  Two additional H7 headlights located in the main headlamps, illuminate over an angle of 30 degrees the inside of a corner, they are activated individually by an electronic control unit (ECU) which anticipates the need for side lighting of the oncoming road.
