| | | | - A hands-free Bluetooth phone kit is available as an option on Peugeot 207s equipped with the RD4 single CD car radio. This system allows the car to "recognise" a "Bluetooth" mobile phone present in the car, take over its main functions and transfer them to the car. Drivers can then use their mobile phone very safely, without handling it, via the remote radio controls mounted on the steering column, the car's speakers and the microphone located in the roof console, while important information is shown on the multifunction display.
- A telematics offer - the RT3 system (RDS single CD car radio, GSM telephone, GPS satellite navigation) - constitutes a valuable aid to mobility. This unit can be combined either with a monochrome screen on which satellite navigation instructions are displayed via pictograms, or a 16/9 7" colour screen which shows routes with colour cartography.
Peugeot 207s equipped with the RT3 system benefi t from new, recently launched facilities, such as: - Input for a MP3 player - Infrared port making it possible to transfer the telephone directory of a mobile phone or PDA - Acknowledgement of traffic information (TMC) to manage detours - Preparation of routes with specifi c destinations The telematics system can provide access (according to country) to emergency and local assistance services offering a valuable addition to safety.
- A five CD auto-changer mounted in the centre console under the car radio is available as standard or as an option according to the version. It is automatically combined with the RT3 system.
- A JBL Hi-Fi system specially adapted for the passenger compartment of Peugeot 207 and delivering a "tailor-made" sound provides acoustic quality of the highest level. This is combined with a 240 W amplification unit, eight speakers and a bass cabinet in the boot. This top-of-the-range installation can be combined with the RD4 dual-tuner car radio and the RT3 system (RDS car radio, GSM telephone, GPS satellite navigation).
SAFETY
THE 207 HAS ADOPTED AND "FINETUNED" ALL POSSIBLE TECHNOLOGY TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ITS OCCUPANTS ...
Peace of mind is a legitimate expectation, very widely expressed by customers regardless of segment level, and Peugeot 207 caters for it specifi cally by means of passive safety, third party safety, and theft protection in particular.
The structure is designed to dissipate impact energy in a programmed way. Protection in the passenger compartment is assured by structural crumple zones and associated safety systems in the form of "air bag / seat belt" pairings that restrain and absorb energy, and consequently reduce the risk of injury.
An optimised structure...
The structural design of Peugeot 207 has been designed to resist impact levels even more severe than those of regulatory or EuroNCAP tests, where it nonetheless earns a five star rating.
It stands out in particular by the integration of the engine compartment - a principle borrowed from Peugeot 407 and newly applied in the B segment - the use of two impact absorption structures, distributes impact energy more effi ciently in the event of collision and also enhances repairability and the protection of pedestrians.
Peugeot 207 is thus one of the very first vehicles to meet the requirements of the new European directive concerning pedestrian impact protection.
For front impact...
The engine compartment incorporates two impact absorption structures - the lower structure - which supplements the traditional upper structure consisting of the chassis legs. Two thirds of the impact energy absorption is through the upper structure and one third through the lower structure.
