Porsche Achieves a Record Number of Registrations in Germany in 2005
Growth despite difficult market environment

Porsche AG, Stuttgart, posted another new record for registrations in Germany in 2005. A total of 16,565 Porsche vehicles were registered, which corresponds to an increase of 2.1 percent compared to the previous year.

The sports car range made a significant contribution to the record figures. Not least thanks to the Cabrio and four-wheel drive versions, which were introduced for the first time in 2005, registrations of the 911 increased by 3.4 percent to a total of 7,099 vehicles (previous year: 6,863). Porsche Boxster series - including Porsche Cayman - recorded an increase of 24.3 percent compared to the previous year with 4,016 registrations (previous year: 3,231). 5,384 units of the sporty Cayenne all-terrain vehicle were registered, 10.5 percent fewer than in the previous year (previous year: 6,019). A further 48 units of the high-performance Porsche Carrera GT sports car were also registered (previous year: 60).

Bernhard Maier, Managing Director of Porsche Deutschland GmbH remarked: "Despite the continuing difficult market environment, we posted another record figure for registrations in our domestic market in 2005. This is mainly due to our new models, which - most recently at the presentation of the Cayman S in November - have been greeted with much enthusiasm at their launches in the Porsche centers."

Maier is also confident for 2006. Along with Porsche Cayman S, the new 521 HP Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, which is to be launched on the German market in March 2006, is expected to provide new impetus.
