| Renault at 2006 Paris Motor Show Unveiling Twingo Concept and Koleos Concept show cars alongside the Nepta concept car
Renault has chosen the Paris Motor Show to unveil - in show car form - two of the 26 vehicles that will be launched within the framework of "Renault Commitment 2009". They are Twingo Concept, which foreshadows the successor to the current Renault Twingo, and Koleos Concept, which marks the expansion of the Renault line-up into two new areas, 4WDs and crossovers.
A pure styling exercise, the four-seater Nepta cabriolet concept car underlines Renault's determination to double its presence in the upper-range segment by 2010.
Renault continues to update its existing range too with the introduction of New Scenic, Megane GT, Megane F1 Team R26, Clio Campus, Modus New Collection and Espace Alyum Plus.
Meanwhile, three demonstrators will be present on the stand to enable visitors to develop their understanding of the notion of quality. This field has been earmarked by Renault as a priority aspect of the "Renault Commitment 2009" plan which aims to position the future Laguna amongst the top-three cars in its segment in terms of both product and service quality.
The environmental aspect of "Renault Commitment 2009" is illustrated by a twin biofuel offer, with the presentation of the bioethanol-powered Megane and a 2.0 dCi engine which runs on biodiesel fuel. Both these engines have been conceived to curb greenhouse effect gases. With CO2 emissions of just 140g/km for a power output of 100hp and a cubic capacity of 1.2 litre, the TCE 100 engine showcases the progress Renault has made in the realm of reducing fuel consumption. The underlying theme of the Renault stand at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, namely "Driving Pleasure Made in Renault", is illustrated by the presence of a number of world premieres and by different bays given over to the notions of travelling comfort, driving pleasure and sporting sensations.
World premieres that illustrate the ambitious product plan announced within the framework of "Renault Commitment 2009"
Renault has chosen the 2006 Paris Motor Show to reveal Twingo Concept which foreshadows the forthcoming Twingo that will go on sale from spring 2007 and which focuses on youth trends, sport and music. Powered by the new TCE 100 engine, Twingo Concept has a high multimedia content, including a centre console equipped for Apple i-Pod playback and Nokia Smartphone use, a mixing deck incorporated in the dashboard, a retractable, folding 15-inch screen and web cam, as well as computer functions that permit communication via the Internet.
The Paris Motor Show also sees Renault take the wraps off Koleos Concept. This show car heralds a rugged and sporty 4WD that also belongs to the world of crossovers thanks to its comfort and roominess. Due to be rolled out in the first half of 2008, this vehicle made for both wide-open spaces and city streets is built on a new four-wheel drive chassis and powered by a 2.0 dCi engine, both developed within the framework of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
An out-and-out styling exercise, the new Nepta concept car is a prestigious four-seater cabriolet featuring flowing, racy looks. It incarnates the automobile dream and the pursuit of mechanical excellence. Its motor-driven gull-wing doors open to reveal both the interior and engine compartment. Nepta is powered by a longitudinally-positioned 3.5-litre 420hp V6 petrol engine coupled with automatic seven-speed transmission and steering wheel-mounted flick-shift controls.
