Making its debut appearance in a motor show in France, Altica is based on the theme of motoring pleasure in the form of a sporty estate.


Renault's travelling comfort expertise

New Renault Scenic's exclusive triple offering in the compact MPV segment features three versions: five-seat Scenic, five-seat Grand Scenic and seven-seat Grand Scenic. New Scenic's generous stowage capacity and modular seat layout continues to place the emphasis on the model's acclaimed practicality. New Scenic's lines have been updated and all equipment levels have been revised. The model also comes with a comprehensive choice of 7 petrol engines and 6 diesel engines, as well as two manual and two automatic transmissions, including the all-new AJ0 six-speed automatic transmission.

Renault Espace range sees the introduction of a new version, Espace Alyum Plus, which is aimed at customers looking for a more a dynamic interior ambience and exterior looks. Renault Espace Alyum Plus features an assertive personality and represents a marked break in terms of styling while losing none of Espace's traditional strengths.

Renault's B-segment offer has also evolved, with new interior and exterior designs and equipment upgrades for Clio Campus and Modus Nouvelle Collection.

In the leisure vehicle segment, Trafic Generation, a passenger car variant of Renault Trafic, sees its range of Euro4-compliant diesel powerplants renewed. The 2.0 dCi is available with a power output of either 90 or 115hp, while the power output of the 2.5 dCi - now equipped with a particulate filter as standard - has been uprated from 135 to 150hp. The range of manual and six-speed robotized transmissions has also evolved.

Renault's stand also features three demonstrators that permit visitors to perceive the notion of quality hands-on thanks to a series of experiments they can try for themselves. Quality has been identified as a priority aspect of "Renault Commitment 2009" which aims to position Laguna 3 amongst the top-three of cars in its segment in terms of product and service quality.

Meanwhile, thanks to ongoing research and development work spanning more than 50 years into technologies aimed at improving the safety of its vehicles, Renault has emerged as the benchmark when it comes to safety. Today, Renault is as determined as ever to maintain its innovative record and is busy imagining the vehicle of tomorrow. People are at the very heart of its concerns and the MMI Demonstrator present at the Paris Motor Show gives visitors a chance to sample the principal safety systems currently being developed by Renault.



Driving pleasure and mechanical excellence

Renault introduces two new petrol engines. Developed within the framework of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the brand new 2.0 16V

140hp features punch and torque at low engine speeds, sprightly performance at higher revs and cushioned acoustics across the full rev band, as well as outstanding driving pleasure. It will soon power models of the Clio range coupled with a choice of two types of transmission, the latest-generation Proactive four-speed automatic transmission and the six-speed manual gearbox.

Due to go on sale from the start of 2007, the new 1.2-litre TCE 100 engine is aimed at the Renault range's A- and B-segment models. Equipped with a low inertia turbocharger, it combines the fuel consumption of an engine of its size with the power of a 1.4-litre block and the torque of a 1.6-litre powerplant. With CO2 emissions of just 140g/km, it has been developed to become a new performance and fuel efficiency benchmark for its power output.
