It also comes with three-point seats belts with load limiters, as well as pretensioners for the outer rear seats and headrests for all seats. For even greater protection, front lateral airbags and front and rear curtain airbags are also available.

New Renault Trafic Generation: an invitation to travel

New Renault Trafic Generation boasts a host of comfort and safety-related features more commonly associated with the world of passenger cars. The range of diesel powerplants - all Euro4- compliant - has been comprehensively revised and sees the arrival of Renault's new 2.0 dCi engine which was developed in association with Nissan within the framework of the Alliance. This powerplant comes in a choice of two versions - 90hp (66kW) and 115hp (84kW) - and offers extra performance, more flexibility and enhanced fuel efficiency to even further anchor Renault Trafic in the world of leisure vehicles. Meanwhile, the power output of the 2.5 dCi diesel engine - which now comes with a particulate filter as standard - has been increased from 135 to 150hp (107kW).

These changes are matched by an evolution in the range of six-speed manual and robotized transmissions, the maximum torque capacity of which has been uprated from 320 to 350Nm, while reverse gear now benefits from synchromesh for extra fluidity while manoeuvring.

Passenger car standard styling and equipment

New Renault Trafic Generation's assimilation with the world of passenger cars is emphasized by the availability of body colour front and rear bumpers (according to version). The re-penned front-end features one-piece headlamp modules incorporating crystal indicators and a new grille that reflects Renault's visual identity. At the rear, it boasts a more dynamic, more refined design that includes a new, bigger footplate in which the reverse parking assist sensors can be housed.

The quality of the dashboard has been upgraded. Its new instruments include an LCD display for water temperature, fuel level and motoring-related data. Particular attention has been paid to the drive station with a view to combining space and functionality. Indeed, the same approach as that which governs the world of MPVs has gone into the model's ergonomics: the steering-wheel is reach-adjustable, the gear lever is mounted on the dashboard which itself comes with an array of stowage spaces, while all controls fall easily to hand.

New Renault Trafic Generation offers outstanding modularity and is the perfect solution for anyone looking for a leisure-oriented vehicle that can also be used on a day-to-day basis.

It is equipped with specific front seats which pivot for enhanced conviviality when parked, a rear benchseat that can be quickly and simply converted into a bed, plus a removable side table.

New Renault Trafic Generation is an eloquent example of Renault's ingenuity when it comes to travelling comfort. All free space has been converted into storage space, including the front door panels, as well as map pockets on the back of the front seats and even a ski-trap under the rear benchseat. The structure of the dashboard has made it possible to fit a lit, chilled (with the climate control option) glovebox that can take a 1½ litre bottle of water, plus a case for sunglasses, cup holders incorporating a removable ashtray and several cubby holes.

A new, dynamic, ultra-smooth and silent-running 2.0 140hp petrol engine

With punch and torque available from low engine speeds, sprightly performance at higher revs and cushioned acoustics across the full rev band, the new 140hp (101.5kW) 2.0 16V petrol engine (M4R) delivers outstanding driving pleasure.
