I. Ixell, Ixtar and Motrio: networks of affiliates based on a multimake product offering
Ixell, new bodyshop network
As part of its drive to develop its Ixell brand, which today accounts for 13% of the French vehicle refinishing market, Renault launched Ixell Bodyshop in France in 2006. Affiliating professionals into the network involves providing them with methods and tools for developing their business.
They are offered training, documentation, and advice on organizing their bodycare activity, equipment, and the skills of their teams (see Appendices). The aim is to optimize the technological and commercial competence of affiliated businesses in order to ensure long-term prosperity in an increasingly difficult market. This method and tool provision draws on the knowhow and expertise of the international Ixell brand. The network is designed to boost sales of paint products, ancillaries, tools and equipment from Ixell, a brand that Renault has groomed for 30 years.
With the Ixtar Valeting network, Renault rounds off its service offer
Renault has had a comprehensive valeting offer available since 2005, when it introduced Ixtar washing, servicing, and refurbishment products. With the opening of its first self-service car wash in April 2006 at Fain-les-Montbard in France's Burgundy region, Ixtar now lends its name to Renault's brand new valeting chain. It complements the service provision of the network's professionals. With Ixtar Valeting outlets including up to 12 tracks with rollers and vacuum cleaners using Ixtar products, Renault has joined forces with the car wash division of European leader Nilfisk Alto in order to develop its new brand. A second car wash opened in September in Bourgoin-Jallieu in the French Alps.
Motrio, an already impressive network
Motrio was one of the first multimake repair networks. Success has been brisk in France. Launched in 2003 it includes 1,200 members in France. Built on the Motrio multimake parts company, the network now offers a wide range of resources and services, like diagnostic tools, Motelio documentation, special offers, credit cards for the end user, and Internet site. Motrio also has outlets in Poland, Portugal, and in Argentina, Argentine with some 53 repair shops.
