Renault upgrades van line-up and launches New Trafic LCV and New Master

Renault's New Trafic LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) and New Master are getting a restyling and equipment upgrade, along with a new engine range compliant with Euro 4 emission standards. Renault has renewed the line of diesel engines for New Trafic LCV and New Master. The new Renault 2.0 dCi engine, a more powerful, responsive and fuelefficient unit developed jointly under the Renault-Nissan Alliance, appears on New Trafic LCV in two versions: 90hp (66kW) and 115hp (84kW). New Trafic LCV is also available with a more powerful 2.5 dCi engine, upgraded from 135hp to 150hp (107kW). This 2.5 dCi unit also replaces the 3.0 dCi on New Master, which is now available with a choice of three 2.5 dCi versions: 100hp (74kW), 120hp (88kW) and 150hp (107kW).

These engines come with two new manual and robotized gearboxes boasting a torque capacity of 350Nm compared to 320Nm previously. Six-speed gearboxes appear across the range, and all engines over 100hp can be ordered with Quickshift robotized transmission, for enhanced driveability and fuel economy. Along with the powertrain upgrade, New Trafic LCV and New Master are also getting a restyling and equipment upgrade.

New Trafic LCV and New Master offer optimum versatility, addressing goods and passenger transport applications with a wide variety of formats (van, drop-side flatbed, tipper [Master only], combi, minibus, bus) and custom solutions for personal or business use: chassis-cab, single-cab, double-cab and open base (camper van for New Master).

New Renault Trafic LCV and New Master were designed and developed by the Renault Corporate Design Department. New Trafic LCV is made at GM's Luton plant in the UK and at Nissan's Barcelona plant in Spain. New Master is made at Renault's Batilly plant in France.

Enhanced equipment for everyday convenience

New Trafic LCV and New Master are getting a restyling and equipment upgrade, with comfort and safety features offering customers further enhancements in usability.

Strong, expressive design

New Trafic LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) has a bold, modern and dynamic design. The redesigned front features one-piece headlamp units with built-in indicators and a new radiator grille expressing the Renault visual identity. Build quality takes a major step forward, with careful attention to fit and finish and mastic smoothing. New Renault Master also features a new, more robust radiator grille design making a clearer statement on membership of the Renault vehicle range. The new bumper unit, with a 10% larger air inlet, to meet Euro 4 standards, can accommodate factory-fit foglamps.

New lamp units at the rear of New Trafic LCV enhance the vehicle's dynamic appeal, and a new footplate makes for added practicality. The Renault name appears on the tailgate or rear doors on New Trafic LCV and New Master, as on Clio and New Renault Megane.

Significant improvements have been made in dashboard assembly quality on New Trafic LCV and New Master, both of which also feature new upholstery and interior finish. New Trafic features new, clearer instruments, a stronger, treated roof panel with cloth covering, a new gearshift knob and reinforced cupholders. In addition, there are new stowage facilities on New Renault Master: two overhead parcel shelves with 5-litre capacity for notepads, clipboards, etc. and a 2-litre cubby on the centre gearshift console.
