Scion models are designed to appeal to the buyer who wants a vehicle that is personal, functional, and easily affordable. 2006 Scion xA combines unique design and spunky performance with legendary Toyota quality and low operating costs. Freshened Exterior and Enhanced Interior for 2006 Scion xA
For 2006, the designers accentuated the muscular contours of the five-door Scion xA body with a redesigned front fascia featuring a revised lower intake and headlamps and a new honeycomb-style grille. Color-keyed rocker panels and bumpers help unite the new design elements that also include redesigned taillamps and new exterior side mirrors with integrated turn signals.
Inside, Scion xA's passenger cabin receives enhancements such as new seat fabric, speedometer with a new silver background and a new steering wheel with integrated audio controls. Customers now have a choice of one of three all-new wheel cover designs shared between Scion xA and xB.
Phantom Gray Pearl and Black Cherry Pearl exterior colors have been replaced with Flint Mica and Salsa Red Pearl.
In Tune with the Digital Lifestyle
Scion has been successfully attracting young, first-time new-car buyers in part by getting in tune with their musical preferences.
"Scion buyers expect their cars to be compatible with their lifestyles, and for most of them, music plays an important role," said Mark Templin, vice president, Scion. "We listened to our customers and now they can use their Scion to play music from their portable devices."
Scion xA's new standard 160-watt maximum output audio system features a centrally located volume control knob and a mini-jack port located in the center console that allows for connectivity to most portable music players. The mini-jack port allows users to listen to their portable music collection through Scion xA's six Pioneer speakers.
A Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit with iPod control is now available as an all-new accessory upgrade for all 2006 Scions. This head unit integrates track, artist and album information from the iPod into a one-line display on the head unit's screen. Connectivity is achieved by simply plugging the iPod into a port via a connector cable, providing outstanding sound quality through the car's stereo system and constant power to the iPod. Music is controlled through the head unit and the steering wheel buttons. The upgrade unit also features audio display color change illumination.
