| The SEAT Leon wins Spain's "Auto 1" award Chosen by the readers of Auto Bild
The SEAT Leon continues to receive awards. A new distinction has been added to those already won last year in several European countries by the Spanish edition of the prestigious Auto Bild magazine. First edition readers voted the Leon Spain's "Auto 1" car. With 21% of the votes, the Leon was the favourite over BMW's 3 Series, with 13.3% and the Honda Civic, with 9.9%.
Mr. Jose Mas Teixidor, director of SEAT Spain, was on hand this week in Madrid to receive the award and a commemorative plaque from Tito Klein, director of Auto Bild in Spain.
This prize is a stepping stone to the European "Auto 1" which will pitch the León against the winning cars from the remaining European editions of Auto Bild in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
The best European car will be chosen by a jury who will make their final decision after track testing at the German Lausitzring circuit, and the award ceremony will take place at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
