In the same way that Vauxhall's Astra and Astra Sport Hatch are distinguished by their very different personalities rather than their number of doors, New Corsa is two cars in one range.

As such, the five-door has a more family-oriented, grown-up appeal.

At the front, the bumpers, wings and bonnet are identical to the three-door, but the five-door is entirely different from the A-pillars back.

A softer shoulder line runs along the length of the car, while the rear door is shaped in a similar style to that of the five-door Astra, with a distinctive 'dog-leg' kink in the panelwork increasing rear access as well as creating a striking styling feature.

Larger window surfaces give the car a more airy feel to the cabin, while the roof stays higher towards the rear of the car, creating additional space for luggage and back seat passengers. Yet despite its more practical appearance, Corsa five-door retains a muscular, athletic look - an appearance that promises to deliver as much from the driving seat as it does from the outside.

2007 Vauxhall Corsa Interior - Cabin exudes quality and style

- Trims designed to cater for widest possible spectrum of tastes
- Translucent cabin dials
- Piano black interior panels

After putting so much effort into New Corsa's elegant exterior, GM's designers couldn't afford to skimp on the appearance of the interior - and they didn't.

With a highly skilled team of designers, New Corsa's cabin was created to suit the demands of modern urban life. From its high quality plastics and multiple storage compartments, through to its state-of-the-art climate control and infotainment systems, the car has one of the best thought-out and desirable cabins in its class.

Each trim level is features unique trim treatments and buyers can further personalise their interior with colour choices that range from vibrant to contemporary classic. Club models for example are available with bold red and blue fabrics which stretch from the seats to the door panels and dash tops. Even the air-vent surrounds are colour matched. Piano-black surfaces on Design and some Club models are a first in the supermini class, while smart translucent lighting, heating and window controls on Design and SXi add to the vibrant, funky appeal of the cabin.

But more than that, it also has a few unique features of its own, building on Vauxhall's reputation for both stylish design and flexibility.

As well as sensible touches such as a rake and reach-adjustable steering wheel and height-adjustable driver's seat (Club upwards), New Corsa features a host of stylish and innovative characteristics.

A modern range of stereo and infotainment systems incorporates MP3 compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity and sat nav featuring dynamic guidance, depending on model, while all New Corsas from Club trim upwards get easy-to-use steering wheel audio controls.

The climate control system is particularly clever - instead of measuring temperatures retrospectively, as with most manufacturer's systems, it checks them in real time, continually adjusting the airflow to ensure the cabin temperature remains at a fixed level throughout your journey, regardless of the weather outside.

But for when that weather is worth enjoying, New Vauxhall Corsa can be ordered with a smart full-length tilt-slide sunroof.
